Days before her disappearance, reports have stated that she had got engaged to her boyfriend Bill Rausch. They had met at West Point where she was a cadet for two years before transferring to the University of Massachusetts to study her dream of being a nurse. The couple were having problems in the relationship since they had started dating. Also days before, she had caused a $10,000 worth of damage to her dads vehicle when hitting a guardrail coming back from a college party on February 7th. By Monday, February 9, she had withdrew $280 from her bank account and emailed her professor stating that she would not attend the next few classes because of a death in her family that never truly happened.
